NIH HPC News & Announcements
REMINDER: Biowulf Globus endpoint unavailable June 9-10 during upgrade to Globus v5
Date: 09 June 2023 09:06:41
From: "Susan Chacko "
REMINDER: As previously announced (see
https://hpc.nih.gov/about/announcements.php?1013) the Biowulf Globus
endpoint with the name 'NIH HPC Data Transfer (Biowulf)' will be updated
from Globus v4 to v5 starting today, Friday, 9 June 2023 at 8 pm. Much
of the migration will be done overnight so as to minimize the impact on
users. We expect the Globus endpoint to become available by noon,
Saturday 10 June 2023.
During the migration, the Globus endpoint will be unavailable for both
data transfers and data sharing. Active data transfers will be
terminated and the owners will receive an email notification.
The update timeframe depends on the number of shared Globus endpoints.
To speed up this process, defunct shared endpoints (those belonging to
departed users, or those pointing to nonexistent paths) were deleted
this morning. You can help by deleting any unnecessary shared endpoints
you own, which you can find at
https://app.globus.org/collections?scope=administered-by-me
When the migration has been completed, we will send out another email.
Users can then restart their data transfers, and existing shared Globus
endpoints will be available again.
