NIH HPC News & Announcements
Emergency downtime TODAY Tuesday 5 April, 6 -11 pm
Date: 05 April 2022 15:04:14
From: Susan Chacko
The HPC systems will be having an emergency downtime at 6 pm on Tuesday
5 April 2022, in order to apply a fix for a new bug found in the
filesystem software. This bug could potentially cause file corruption,
so for the safety of your data it is imperative that the fix be applied
as soon as possible.
The Biowulf login node, Helix, and the Biowulf batch system will be
unavailable during this emergency downtime. Batch scheduling has been
turned off, so that no new jobs are being started now. All running jobs
will be terminated at 6 pm. Queued jobs will remain in the system and
will start when the systems are available again.
We expect the systems to be back up by 11 pm.
We are aware that jobs have just started running again after the
downtime; apologies for the disruption to your work. Please let us know
if you have questions or concerns.
NIH HPC Staff.
