EXTENDED DOWNTIME for Biowulf/HPC December 8-11, 2022
Date: 09 November 2022 09:11:46
From: NIH HPC Systems Staff
There will be an extended downtime of the HPC/Biowulf Cluster starting on Thursday December 8 at 8 pm and running until Sunday December 11 at 8 pm to allow for required upgrades to the HPC storage systems. Email will be sent to NIH HPC users once all HPC services have been restored.
During this four day maintenance window the following HPC services will be unavailable to NIH HPC users:
- Biowulf login node & cluster
- Helix (the HPC data transfer node)
- HPCdrive
- Partek Flow
- All Globus endpoints including NIH HPC Data Transfer, S3, GCP, and One Drive
Note that a batch system reservation will be put in place for the downtime period. This means that the batch system scheduler will not start jobs that wouldn't end before the start of the reservation. Therefore, you should carefully choose job time limits so as not to unnecessarily delay your jobs. Any running Biowulf jobs will be terminated at 8 pm on December 8.
